| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Donald R. "Donnie" Bealer of Coal Valley, | 4 | | who passed away on September 6, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donnie Bealer was born in Milan to Gus and Ida | 6 | | (Cooper) Bealer on January 24, 1932; he graduated from Rock | 7 | | Island High School; he served in the U.S. Army during the | 8 | | Korean Conflict; he married Beverly Strayer on July 18, 1954; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Upon returning from the war, Donnie Bealer | 11 | | purchased the Good's estate and constructed Beverly Manor | 12 | | Apartments, which included six apartment buildings around the | 13 | | carriage house; he started 5 Cities Construction, which later | 14 | | became 5 Cities Paving; he was involved in numerous projects | 15 | | around the Quad Cities, including renovating the Orchard Center | 16 | | on 23rd Avenue, pouring the concrete parking lots during the | 17 | | construction of Black Hawk College, and repaving 5th Avenue in | 18 | | the 1970s and a portion of 12th Avenue in Moline; he was | 19 | | awarded the 5th Street paving project in Rock Island and | 20 | | continued to renovate the area when the paving project was | 21 | | complete; he built a 100-door truck terminal in Rock Island | 22 | | along with numerous other projects around the Quad Cities; | 23 | | alongside his son Bryan, he built and renovated buildings |

| 1 | | around the Midwest for CCX/XPO Trucking Terminals; he was a | 2 | | land developer in Coal Valley and developed the Oak Knoll, | 3 | | Windcrest, and Oak View Estates subdivisions; his son Bryan and | 4 | | grandsons continue his legacy through Bealer Family Builders; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Donnie Bealer was a member of the Moline Lions | 7 | | Club, the Elks Club, and the QB (Quiet Birds Aviation Club); he | 8 | | enjoyed flying, boating, and cooking; he especially loved | 9 | | spending time with his family; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Donnie Bealer was preceded in death by his | 11 | | parents, a sister, a brother, and his son, Donald E. Bealer; | 12 | | and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Donnie Bealer is survived by his wife, Beverly; | 14 | | his son, Bryan (Beth) Bealer; his grandchildren, Emalee Bealer, | 15 | | Brandon (Elizabeth Benedict) Bealer, and Andrew (Brooke) | 16 | | Bealer; and his great-grandchildren, Benny, Izzy, and Brewer; | 17 | | therefore, be it
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 20 | | Donald R. "Donnie" Bealer and extend our sincere condolences to | 21 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 22 | | further
