| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Verna E. | 4 | | Horstman of Belleville, who passed away on October 17, 2010; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman was employed as a Juvenile Officer | 7 | | for the Belleville Police Department and the City of | 8 | | Belleville; she also worked as a fraud investigator for William | 9 | | C. Scott and as a secretary for School District #189 in East | 10 | | St. Louis; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman was a member of St. George | 12 | | Episcopal Church; she served as a volunteer at Memorial | 13 | | Hospital; she was also an avid Republican and a member of the | 14 | | Republican Women's Club; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman was preceded in death by her | 16 | | husband, William P. Horstman; her parents, Jesse C. and Mary | 17 | | P., nee Mayer, Nichols; her brothers, Bill Nichols, Jesse "Jit" | 18 | | Nichols, and Raymond Nichols; and her first husband, Eugene P. | 19 | | Clayton; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Verna Horstman is survived by her children, Thomas | 21 | | Clayton, Jana Riggins, Michael Horstman, James (Sue) Horstman, |

| 1 | | and Patrick (Denie) Horstman; her 7 grandchildren; her 5 | 2 | | great-grandchildren; her nieces, Nancy Cox and Sally Reiss; and | 3 | | her sister-in-law, Betty Horstman; therefore, be it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 5 | | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 6 | | mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Verna | 7 | | E. Horstman; and be it further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to the family of Verna Horstman as an expression of | 10 | | our sympathy.
