| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert B. "Bob" Shipp of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 100; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Shipp was born in Buffalo, Kentucky to William | 6 | | and Lydia (Davis) Shipp on January 10, 1920; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. military during World War II from October of 1940 to | 8 | | December of 1945; he married Eleanor F. Sharer in November of | 9 | | 1945; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bob Shipp worked at the McLaughlin Body Company, | 11 | | the East Moline school system, and Black Hawk College and | 12 | | retired from the Illini Hospital; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Bob Shipp volunteered for RSVP (The Retired and | 14 | | Senior Volunteer Program) of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois | 15 | | for many years, accumulating over 11,904 hours in his lifetime; | 16 | | he was a lifetime donor to the Mississippi Valley Blood Bank | 17 | | with over 10 gallons donated; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Bob Shipp enjoyed going for walks, fishing, | 19 | | camping, gardening, and watching the wild life and grass grow; | 20 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bob Shipp was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Eleanor; his parents; brothers and sisters; his daughter, | 3 | | Frances DeBord; and his son, Robert "Rob" Shipp; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bob Shipp is survived by his children, Barry (Fay) | 5 | | Shipp, Rhonda Penn, and Roy (Kathryn) Shipp; his | 6 | | daughter-in-law, Michele Shipp; nine grandchildren; nine | 7 | | great-grandchildren; and his sister, JoAnn Jordan; therefore, | 8 | | be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Robert B. "Bob" Shipp and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Bob Shipp as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy.
