| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John M. Dennis of Danvers, who passed | 4 | | away on October 18, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Dennis was born to Harry and Mary Wall Dennis | 6 | | in Bloomington on September 22, 1930; he graduated from | 7 | | University High School and later attended carpenter apprentice | 8 | | school; he served four years active duty with the U.S. Army and | 9 | | also served with the Illinois Army National Guard, retiring in | 10 | | 1986, for a total of 37 years of service; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, John Dennis worked as a commercial and residential | 12 | | builder and later worked at Lumber Land and Lumber Lane; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, John Dennis was a member of the First Presbyterian | 14 | | Church in Danvers; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, John Dennis was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan; he | 16 | | enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren; he | 17 | | was a very generous man and provided countless home remodels | 18 | | and repairs for family and friends; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, John Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; | 20 | | one daughter, Sheila Spivey; his brother, Tom (Cathy) Dennis; |

| 1 | | and his sisters, Christine Beebe and Mary Helen Goetsch; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, John Dennis is survived by three children, Steve | 3 | | (Nancy) Dennis, John M. "Mike" (Karen) Dennis Jr., and Georgia | 4 | | (Steve) Spivey; his eight grandchildren, Luscina Dennis, Kalle | 5 | | Dennis, Cassie Dennis, Collin Dennis, Amanda Yazell, Andrea | 6 | | (Steve) Fears, Trisha (Mike) Filliman, and Amber (Jared) | 7 | | Monroe; several great-grandchildren; his three brothers, James | 8 | | Dennis, William Dennis, Tim (Susan) Dennis; and his sister, | 9 | | Paulita (Mark) Killian; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | John M. Dennis and extend our sincere
condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 14 | | further

| 16 | | presented to the family of John Dennis as an expression of
