| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the passing of United | 4 | | States Army Specialist James "Chad" Young, who passed away | 5 | | while serving his country on November 3, 2010, in Nar-Kariz, | 6 | | Kandahar Province, Afghanistan; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, He was born August 10, 1985, in Springfield, to | 8 | | Jerry and Brett Ann Bowen Young; he was raised in the Rochester | 9 | | area, attended Ball-Chatham schools, and graduated from | 10 | | Glenwood High School in 2003; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, He joined the United States Army in 2004 and | 12 | | served in Korea before deployment to Afghanistan for the first | 13 | | time, returning in late 2007; he was called back for a second | 14 | | tour of duty and arrived in Afghanistan in early June of this | 15 | | year, where he was assigned to the 863rd Engineer Battalion; | 16 | | and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, He was promoted to corporal posthumously; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, United States Army Specialist James "Chad" Young | 19 | | is survived by his parents; his sister, Katie Marie Robbins; | 20 | | his brother, Steven Baptist; his girlfriend, Maria Millburg; | 21 | | his grandmother, Gladys Young; his nieces and nephews, Caleb |

| 11 | | RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of United States Army | 12 | | Specialist James Young and his willingness to serve his | 13 | | country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be | 14 | | it further | 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of United States Army Specialist James | 17 | | Young as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
