| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harry Hayes Defenbaugh, who passed away | 4 | | on October 28, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh was born to George and Vernal | 6 | | (Hayes) Defenbaugh of rural Streator on January 8, 1951; he | 7 | | graduated from Woodland School in 1969; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh was a farmer in the Streator and | 9 | | Ancona area for his entire life; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh was a member of Streator Elks | 11 | | Lodge #591, where he bowled on the men's league for many years; | 12 | | he was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh enjoyed the early "breakfast | 14 | | club" shift at the 4 Corners where the locals would meet and | 15 | | converse about what was happening in the area;
he loved | 16 | | farming, fishing, boating, bird watching, his friends, and | 17 | | traveling the world and meeting new people; he was an avid | 18 | | collector of cars, tractors, model trains, and unusual things; | 19 | | he was a thoughtful, caring person; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Harry Defenbaugh is survived by his sister, Mary |

| 1 | | (the late Robert) Poldek; his nephews and nieces, Riley | 2 | | (Maureen) Poldek, Kirk (Meghan) Poldek, and Keri (Derek) | 3 | | Christie; and his grandnephews and grandnieces, Katie and Tommy | 4 | | Poldek and Erin and Clara Christie; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 7 | | Harry Hayes Defenbaugh and extend our sincere
condolences to | 8 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 9 | | further
