| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Earline Cole, who passed away on February | 4 | | 2, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Earline Cole was born in Nashville, Tennessee to | 6 | | Earl and Willie Mae (Brown) Woods on May 18, 1924; she married | 7 | | Joseph Cole Sr. on April 28, 1940; she and her first child | 8 | | moved to Chicago while Joe served in World War II; he joined | 9 | | them in Chicago after his tour; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Earline Cole worked for the Civic Opera House in | 11 | | Chicago for many years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Earline Cole learned to drive in her early | 13 | | thirties and drove for six decades; she spent her leisure time | 14 | | playing board games with her children and camping and fishing | 15 | | with her husband; once she became a grandmother, she kept the | 16 | | tradition of camping and fishing alive with her grandchildren; | 17 | | she also enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family and | 18 | | friends; she will be remembered for her sense of humor and her | 19 | | indomitable spirit; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Earline Cole was preceded in death by her husband, | 21 | | Joe; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Earline Cole is survived by her children, Joanne, | 2 | | Jacqueline, Joseph Jr. (Buster), Janis, Carol, and Deborah; her | 3 | | grandchildren, Sharon, William Jr. (Anthony), Jon, Joseph III, | 4 | | Jerome Jr., Keith, Joanna, Jason, Jauntair, and Malika; her | 5 | | great-grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. Lauren, Khalyb, Tyriek, | 6 | | Jeremiah, Keanna, Ma'Klah, Antonio Jr., Raina, Amanda, and | 7 | | Cadence; her great-great-grandchildren, Jaya, Jasmine, | 8 | | Christian, Jamari, and Janiya; and her many nieces, nephews, | 9 | | great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Earline Cole and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | 13 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
