| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Edna E. Cannon of Alton, who passed away | 4 | | on January 31, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was born to David E. and Nora L. | 6 | | (Hawkins) Keen on July 2, 1921; she married Ellison W. Cannon | 7 | | on June 2, 1946; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was employed by the Alton Public | 9 | | School System, the Duncan Family, and Monticello College in | 10 | | Godfrey; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was a member of the Lincoln Douglas | 12 | | Banquet Board, and a longtime member of the Busy Fingers Sewing | 13 | | Club; she was a member of Model Chapel AME Church, now Trinity | 14 | | AME Church; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was preceded in death by her husband, | 16 | | Ellison; her parents; an infant son, Ellison Jr.; and her | 17 | | sisters and brothers, Nora Mae Keen, William L. Keen, David | 18 | | Keen, and Stella Keen-Johnson; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Edna Cannon is survived by her sons, David Cannon, | 20 | | Dennis Cannon, and Larry Cannon; her grandson, Joshua Cannon; |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Edna E. Cannon, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 7 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 8 | | further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Edna Cannon as an expression of our | 11 | | deepest sympathy.
