| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Marlene Abdula Hunt, who passed away on | 4 | | December 23, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marlene Hunt was born and raised in Waukegan and | 6 | | remained a Lake County resident for most of her life; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Marlene Hunt was always engaged in her community | 8 | | and active in politics; her passion for her community led to a | 9 | | career in communications, which she began by working at WKRS | 10 | | radio in Waukegan; she worked for the Pioneer Press, News-Sun, | 11 | | and Chicago Tribune until her retirement; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Marlene Hunt was a Peter Lisagor Award nominee for | 13 | | her work on the series "Lake County: Boom or Bust"; she spent | 14 | | time working for the Tuberculosis Institute of Chicago and Cook | 15 | | County, Baxter-Travenol, and as a systems analyst for Allstate; | 16 | | she was a certified financial planner; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Marlene Hunt's love of Lake County drove her to | 18 | | help people find homes there and she worked as a real estate | 19 | | agent for many years; she also donated her time to volunteer | 20 | | for Arden Shore, and to various local projects including | 21 | | creating and saving small neighborhood parks; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Marlene Hunt was mother to Elisabeth and Edward | 2 | | Hunt (Lisa); sister to Fred Abdula (Anna Marie); aunt to Linda | 3 | | Considine (James), Patrick, Michael, and Lisa Abdula, and Paul | 4 | | Frei; and grandmother to Tyler and Henry Hunt; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Marlene Hunt, and we extend our sincere condolences to her | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Marlene Hunt as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
