| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois began | 3 |
| presenting "Women With Vision" Awards in 1997 to honor and | 4 |
| recognize women who have demonstrated visionary approaches in | 5 |
| their professional endeavors and who have made a contribution | 6 |
| to the well-being and empowerment of women; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois is proud | 8 |
| to announce the 2006 recipients of "Women With Vision" Awards; | 9 |
| and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Mary Crego currently serves as Senior Vice | 11 |
| President for the Great Lakes Zone Region of State Farm | 12 |
| Insurance, with responsibilities as the chief executive | 13 |
| overseeing State Farm's operations in the states of Illinois, | 14 |
| Michigan, and Indiana; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crego's responsibilities in the Great Lakes | 16 |
| Zone covers a $6 billion enterprise, consisting of homeowners' | 17 |
| and life insurance products in addition to other financial | 18 |
| services provided by State Farm Bank and State Farm Mutual | 19 |
| Funds, and employing more than 5,400 associates and 2,180 State | 20 |
| Farm agents under her supervision; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crego joined State Farm in 1979, first | 22 |
| employed as a claim representative in the Chicago area, and, | 23 |
| since then, holding numerous positions in the Chicago and | 24 |
| downstate Illinois operation in Claims, Health Underwriting, | 25 |
| and Human Resources before being named director of a new State | 26 |
| Farm initiative in 1996 to provide 24/7 customer assistance in | 27 |
| the newly formed Customer Response Center; and
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crego was named Vice President for Operation | 29 |
| in the State Farm Zone headquartered in Charlottesville, | 30 |
| Virginia, and later was promoted to Operations Vice President, |

| before being named Senior Vice President for the Great Lakes | 2 |
| Zone in 2003; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crego is a proud alum of Illinois Wesleyan | 4 |
| University and has earned insurance education designations, | 5 |
| including Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered | 6 |
| Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Chartered Property and | 7 |
| Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); and | 8 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crego not only commits her time and talent to | 9 |
| her professional career, but also is dedicated to her community | 10 |
| service, demonstrated by her service on the board of directors | 11 |
| of the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce and the board of the | 12 |
| charitable organization Voices for Illinois Children; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Crego has mentored many other women in State | 14 |
| Farm's organization, contributing greatly to the company's | 15 |
| success; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois honors Ms. | 17 |
| Crego's achievements by recognizing her as a 2006 recipient of | 18 |
| the "Women with Vision" Award in the area of business; | 19 |
| therefore, be it
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 21 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 22 |
| we congratulate Mary Crego on being awarded this honor, and | 23 |
| extend our sincere acknowledgement to her, her husband, Paul, | 24 |
| and their two children; and be it further
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 26 |
| presented to Ms. Crego as an expression of our respect and | 27 |
| esteem.
