| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Earl E. Smith of McHenry, who passed away | 4 | | on September 14 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Earl Smith was born in Effingham on May 2, 1938 to | 6 | | Oscar Earl and Allene (nee Engle) Smith; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Prior to retirement 7 years ago, Earl Smith was | 8 | | employed as a tool & die maker at Regency Die & Mold Company of | 9 | | Ingleside; after retirement, he was employed for nearly 4 years | 10 | | on a part-time basis at Meijer in McHenry, where he worked in | 11 | | the Garden Department; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Since living in McHenry, Earl Smith was a resident | 13 | | for the entire time in the West Shore Beach subdivision, where | 14 | | he was instrumental in improving and bringing his neighborhood | 15 | | together; he was active with the West Shore Beach Property | 16 | | Owners Association, serving on the Board of Directors as well | 17 | | as holding the office of President and Vice-President for | 18 | | several years; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Earl Smith was an avid fisherman throughout his | 20 | | lifetime, and enjoyed boating when he was younger; he was a | 21 | | proud grandfather and loved to spend time with his family; he |

| 1 | | was always willing to help people, and made many friends over | 2 | | the years; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Earl Smith was preceded in death by his parents | 4 | | and his wife, Deborah C. Smith; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Earl Smith is survived by his daughter, Tiffany | 6 | | (Francis) Fisher; a son, Christopher Stone; 2 grandchildren, | 7 | | Dominick Fisher and George Fisher; 3 brothers, Fredrick (Marnie | 8 | | Rawson) Smith, George (Joyce) Smith, and Stephen Smith; a | 9 | | sister, Marion (Bobby) Hitt; and several nieces and nephews; | 10 | | therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Earl E. Smith, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further
