| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Carl G. Wellman of Harvard, who passed | 4 | | away on August 25, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl Wellman was born September 13, 1925 in West | 6 | | Point, Iowa to Henry and Bertha (nee Wiggenjost) Wellman; he | 7 | | served in the United States Army during World War II in the | 8 | | Philippines; he married Winnifred Walsh on October 25, 1952 in | 9 | | Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Carl Wellman farmed in his early years in Iowa and | 11 | | Canada and for many years he worked as an electrician for | 12 | | Illinois Bell in Chicago; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Carl Wellman was a member of the Woodstock | 14 | | Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Harvard Grange, and the Antique | 15 | | Outboard Motor Club; he had a large collection of antique | 16 | | outboard motors and was also well known for his hat collection; | 17 | | he enjoyed attending thresheree events such as the Rock River | 18 | | Thresheree in Edgerton, Wisconsin; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Carl Wellman was preceded in death by his sisters, | 20 | | Marian Woolford, Lucille Schumaker, Irene Wellman, and Clara | 21 | | Wellman; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Carl Wellman is survived by his wife, Winnifred | 2 | | "Winnie" Wellman; daughter, Lynn (Tim) O'Brien; grandchildren, | 3 | | Megan, Colleen, and Kevin O'Brien; brother, James (Mary) | 4 | | Wellman; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Carl G. Wellman, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | friends, family, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Carl Wellman as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
