| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Wayne H. Macklin of Crystal Lake, who | 4 | | passed away on September 10, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Macklin was born on January 6, 1931 in | 6 | | DeKalb to Gertrude and Harry Macklin; he served in the United | 7 | | States Army from 1952 to 1954, stationed in Munich, Germany | 8 | | during the Korean Conflict; he graduated with honors from the | 9 | | University of Illinois in Champaign with a degree in | 10 | | agriculture; he married Joan Montavon on July 12, 1952; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Macklin was employed at Charter | 12 | | International Oil for 22 years, where he held several | 13 | | management positions, and then with the Alexander Chemical | 14 | | Corporation as a partner; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Macklin was an avid sports fan and served as | 16 | | an usher for the Chicago Cubs for 8 years after he retired; he | 17 | | also enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, and traveling with his | 18 | | wife, taking many river cruises; he was a member of St. Thomas | 19 | | the Apostle Catholic Church, where he served as usher for many | 20 | | years, and the Crystal Lake Country Club since 1978; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Macklin was preceded in death by his |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Macklin is survived by his wife of 62 years, | 3 | | Joan; children, Julie Bruner (Tom Stejskal) and John Macklin | 4 | | (Tammy Johnson); grandchildren, Kelly Bruner and Avery and Jack | 5 | | Macklin; brother, Ronald (Elsie) Macklin; sister, Betty (the | 6 | | late Robert) Sanders; sisters-in-law, Carol (late Cork) Holmes | 7 | | and Norma (the late Verner) McPherron; and many nieces and | 8 | | nephews; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Wayne H. Macklin, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
