| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the passing of Martin | 4 | | Anthonisen of Chicago, who passed away on July 10, 2010; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He served as a Navy Pilot during World War II; he | 6 | | was a proud member of Sigma Nu Fraternity at DePauw University | 7 | | and graduated from the University of Illinois; he earned his | 8 | | Series 7 and 24 Securities licenses and held the distinction of | 9 | | being in the first class for the Certified Financial Planner | 10 | | designation; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, In 1962 he founded Anthonisen Financial | 12 | | Corporation and went on to manage stockbrokers and financial | 13 | | advisors throughout Chicago and northeast Indiana; the firm | 14 | | continues today as AFC Advisory Group, serving the retired and | 15 | | retiring under the direction of Lois Anthonisen and Nick | 16 | | Markionni; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, friend, and | 18 | | friend to charity; he gave much of his time and energy to local | 19 | | non-profit organizations, including the founding and hosting | 20 | | of the original "Jazz In The Park For Charity" at his home in | 21 | | Flossmoor; he was a long time Rotarian and served as President | 22 | | of the Merrillville, Indiana chapter, originated, and was |

| 1 | | founding President of the Homewood Rotary Foundation; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, He was a Paul Harris Fellow and sponsored numerous | 3 | | scholarships for candidates focusing on business and marketing | 4 | | at Prairie State College and Governors State University; he | 5 | | served on boards of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra and New | 6 | | York-based Royal Alliance, his firm's broker dealer; his | 7 | | international charity work included missions to deliver | 8 | | eyeglasses to the poor in Poland and Peru and serving with a | 9 | | team of financial professionals to help the Chinese establish | 10 | | their financial services industry in Beijing and Shanghai; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, | 12 | | Lynn Anthonisen; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Martin Anthonisen is survived by his wife, Lois | 14 | | (nee Pommier); his daughter, Karen Finch; his son, Carsen | 15 | | Anthonisen; his daughter, Lisa Myers; and his daughter, Ashley | 16 | | Ottmann; Roberta Neidigh Anthonisen and Terry Myers, his | 17 | | precious daughter and son in law, his six wonderful | 18 | | grandchildren and three great grandchildren round out his proud | 19 | | family; therefore, be it
