| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Mergler served his country as a member of | 6 | | the United States Armed Forces during World War II; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Donald Mergler retired from the Chicago Fire | 8 | | Department after many years of service with Engine Company 58, | 9 | | having attained the rank of lieutenant; and
