1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of
3 Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of Rose M.
4 Nelson of Silvis on Sunday, May 4, 2003; and
5 WHEREAS, Rose M. Nelson was born on April 9, 1926, in
6 Moline, the daughter of Jacob and Archangle Perry Talarico;
7 she married Theodore Nelson on June 26, 1946, in East Moline;
8 he preceded her in death on September 24, 1998; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Nelson was employed as a license examiner
10 for the Secretary of State and also worked at Frank's
11 Pizzeria in Silvis; and
12 WHEREAS, Rose Nelson was a member of Our Lady of
13 Guadalupe Rosary Makers, the National Catholic Society of
14 Foresters, Saint Rita's Circle at Saint Mary's, East Moline,
15 the Rock Island County Democratic Women's Club, the Illinois
16 Democratic Women, the East Moline American Legion Auxiliary
17 Unit 227, TOPPS IL 403 Moline, the East End Bolders Club, and
18 the Illini Women's Auxiliary; she enjoyed yard work and
19 helping on Democratic Party Campaigns; and
20 WHEREAS, The passing of Rose M. Nelson has been deeply
21 felt by all who knew her, especially her sons, Bruce (Ronda)
22 Nelson, Ted Nelson Jr., and James (Linda) Nelson; her
23 grandchildren, Jennifer LaFontiane, Kim Nelson, Bree Sage,
24 Jake Nelson, BJ Nelson, and Brandon Nelson; her
25 great-grandchildren, Brittni, Brandi, Nicholas, Sherri, and
26 Michael; her sister, Cathy Jo Lane; her brother, Michael
27 Talarico; and her many special friends; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
30 of Rose M. Nelson and express our sincere and deepest
31 sympathy to her family and friends; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Rose M. Nelson as an expression of
3 our condolences during their time of bereavement.
