| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Tommy L. | 4 |
| Martin of West Frankfort, who passed away on September 12, | 5 |
| 2008; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, He was born June 1, 1920, in West Frankfort to | 7 |
| Elvis Lee Martin and Magdalene (Williams) Martin; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Tommy graduated from FCHS with the class of 1939; | 9 |
| he was a member of Second Baptist Church in West Frankfort, | 10 |
| Loyal Order of Kentucky Colonels, national vice president of | 11 |
| Jaycee's, West Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, and West | 12 |
| Frankfort Lion's Club; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Over the years he enjoyed playing golf at the | 14 |
| Franklin County Country Club, thoroughbred horse racing at | 15 |
| Ellis Park in Henderson, Kentucky, and bluegill fishing at | 16 |
| Reelfoot Lake; he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and | 17 |
| enjoyed politics; he was district manager for the All American | 18 |
| and Causality Insurance Company and had worked at the Ford | 19 |
| Motor Company in Michigan; he worked for 37 years for the | 20 |
| Department of Mine and Minerals, oil and gas division; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, |

| Carolyn Martin; and
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Tommy Martin is survived by his son, Tim Martin; | 3 |
| his two brothers, Bill and wife, Pat Martin and John and wife, | 4 |
| Lois Martin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; | 5 |
| therefore, be it
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 7 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 8 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Tommy | 9 |
| L. Martin; and be it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to the family of Tommy L. Martin as a symbol of our | 12 |
| sincere sympathy.
