| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Wayne Newton Hecht of Savoy, who passed | 4 | | away on August 25, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Hecht was born to Grace and Alvah Hecht in | 6 | | Kearney, Nebraska on November 23, 1929; he graduated from York | 7 | | High School in 1948; he married Jeretta Catherine Leu at the | 8 | | United Lutheran Church in York, Nebraska on February 4, 1951; | 9 | | after serving in the Army Counterintelligence Corps during the | 10 | | Korean War, he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Hecht accepted the position of assistant | 13 | | director at the newly constructed Assembly Hall at the | 14 | | University of Illinois in 1963; he retired as director of the | 15 | | Assembly Hall in 1993; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Hecht was a charter member of Good Shepherd | 17 | | Lutheran Church in Champaign; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Hecht was preceded in death by his parents | 19 | | and his two brothers, Dean and Boyd Hecht; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Wayne Hecht is survived by his wife; his son, |

| 1 | | Bruce Matthew (Mary Ann) Hecht; his daughter, Laura Jane | 2 | | (Robert) Young; his granddaughter, Lisa (John) Bertetto; his | 3 | | great-grandsons, John Victor and Leo Bruce; and his brother, | 4 | | Ross Hecht; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 7 | | Wayne Newton Hecht and extend our sincere
condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
