| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mary Lorraine Boehmer of Woodstock, who | 4 | | passed away on September 30, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was born in Mobile, Alabama on August | 6 | | 1, 1928 to Joseph Ross and Claudine (nee Joseph) Ollis; she | 7 | | married Arthur William Boehmer in February of 1953 and their | 8 | | life in the United States Navy, followed by United Airlines, | 9 | | was pivotal to her love of seeing new destinations; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, While living in Palatine, Mary Boehmer was very | 11 | | active in Travelers Aid Chicago at Chicago's O'Hare | 12 | | International Airport; she traveled to many worldwide | 13 | | destinations, such as Russia, Egypt, and Ireland; she took 38 | 14 | | cruises to many regions of the world, with Paris being her | 15 | | fondest destination; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was active in local organizations | 17 | | such as The Bull Valley Garden Club, the Woodstock Fine Arts | 18 | | Association, the Investment Club, as well as many others; she | 19 | | had a wonderful gift of entertaining, even though she had a | 20 | | strong aversion to cooking and with her Southern charm and | 21 | | graciousness, she was always the life of the party and | 22 | | conversation; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was preceded in death by her parents; | 2 | | and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer is survived by her husband of 62 | 4 | | years, Arthur; 3 children, William Ross (Susan) Boehmer, Tracy | 5 | | (Ron) Kieras, and Stephanie (Thomas) Paulsen; and 5 | 6 | | grandchildren, Erik, Michael, Kelly, Lindsay, and Rob; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Mary Lorraine Boehmer, and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Mary Boehmer as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
