| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Raymond N. Rundle of Spring Grove, who | 4 | | passed away on October 12, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rundle was born in Lead, South Dakota on | 6 | | August 1, 1924 to Thomas and Gwendolyn (nee Wasley) Rundle; he | 7 | | served in the United States Army as a Private First Class in | 8 | | World War II from 1943 to 1945, serving under Gen. Patton in | 9 | | the Battle of the Bulge and also in France; he married Billie | 10 | | Hutchings on June 7, 1952 in Chicago; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rundle was employed as a department head | 12 | | X-ray technologist at Augustana Hospital & Health Care Center | 13 | | in Chicago, from 1947 until retiring in 1989; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rundle was a member of Grace Lutheran | 15 | | Church in Richmond, where he was active and served as | 16 | | Congregation Steward, Property Chairman, and past President of | 17 | | Church Council; he also sang in the choir and served as Lay | 18 | | Minister; he was the last living member of World War II of Paul | 19 | | C. Hoffman American Legion Post #253; he also belonged to the | 20 | | Veterans of Foreign Wars and was past President of the Young at | 21 | | Heart fellowship ministry; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rundle was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents, Thomas and Gwendolyn Rundle, and 3 brothers, Thomas, | 3 | | Robert, and John Rundle; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Rundle is survived by his wife, Billie; a | 5 | | son, Thomas (Deborah) Rundle; 4 grandchildren, Samantha, | 6 | | Stephanie, Connor, and Thomas Rundle, Jr.; one | 7 | | great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Rundle; and 2 sisters, Laura | 8 | | Edsel and Dorothy Olson; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Raymond N. Rundle, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Raymond Rundle as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
