| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joan M. Callis of St. Louis, Missouri, | 4 | | formerly of Granite City, who passed away on April 16, 2018; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Joan Callis was born in East St. Louis to Joseph | 7 | | and Anna (Flak) Wegrzyn on March 20, 1939; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Joan Callis participated in local charities and | 9 | | was recently a diva host for Food Outreach; she was also a | 10 | | political activist; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Joan Callis was preceded in death by her parents; | 12 | | and her siblings, Anna Walentia, William J. Wegrzyn, Lottie | 13 | | LeVanti, Helen Patterson, and Chester J. Wegrzyn; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Joan Callis is survived by her husband of 54 | 15 | | years, Felix "Lance" Callis; her children, Mona S. (Dale | 16 | | Erspamer) Callis, Ann E. (James Holloran) Callis, Melissa Mary | 17 | | Callis, and Phillip Lance Callis; her grandchildren, Michael, | 18 | | Anna, Nora (Phil Adams), Elliot, Caroline, Anna, Ava Rose, and | 19 | | Juan Manuel; and her six great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
