| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joanne True of Lake | 4 |
| Villa for her 25 years of dedicated service with the Soil & | 5 |
| Water Conservation District (SWCD) of Lake County; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Joanne True was hired as District Secretary for | 7 |
| the Lake County SWCD in March of 1984; she was promoted to the | 8 |
| position of District Manager in 1994; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Under Joanne True's guidance and leadership, the | 10 |
| Lake County SWCD has become a leader in conservation, carrying | 11 |
| out the goals of wise natural resource management and | 12 |
| environmental education; the district has sponsored programs | 13 |
| such as annual plant and fish sales, conservation education | 14 |
| grants to schools, third grade tree seedling distribution, soil | 15 |
| boring, and Envirothon competition, all of which have | 16 |
| flourished under Ms. True's leadership; she has also been | 17 |
| instrumental in keeping the District functioning in the absence | 18 |
| of federal funding and has secured working contracts with the | 19 |
| Army Corps of Engineers and the IEPA to address urban issues, | 20 |
| such as construction site erosion and sediment control; and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Joanne True has consistently been an uplifting | 22 |
| presence for the personnel at the SWCD; she has promoted a |

| happy, open, joyful, and family-like atmosphere throughout the | 2 |
| district's office and has made many life-long friends from | 3 |
| staff members throughout the years; and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Joanne True has been supported in her conservation | 5 |
| career by her loving family, including her husband, Benjamin; | 6 |
| her daughters, Wendy Friedle and Andrea True-Kelly; her | 7 |
| sons-in-law, Al Friedle and Chuck Kelly; her mother, Mary | 8 |
| Gronka; her father, Joseph Russ; and her grandchildren, Brett, | 9 |
| Eve, and Ethan; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Joanne True serves as a model of hard work, | 11 |
| integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | 12 |
| Illinois; therefore, be it
| 13 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 14 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 15 |
| congratulate Joanne True for her 25 years of dedicated service | 16 |
| with the Soil & Water Conservation District of Lake County and | 17 |
| wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be | 18 |
| it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 20 |
| presented to Joanne True as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
