| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Albert J. "Big Al" Lampo Sr. of East | 4 | | Moline, who passed away on May 6, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Albert Lampo was born in Moline to Alphons and | 6 | | Mary (DeBel) Lampo on October 14, 1924; he graduated from Union | 7 | | Township High School in 1942 and joined the United States Navy | 8 | | in February of 1943; he served as a Fire Controlman 1st Class | 9 | | aboard the USS Gunason DE795 in both the Atlantic and South | 10 | | Pacific theaters; he was discharged in February of 1946; he | 11 | | married Bernice May Lundeen on October 11, 1947; he married | 12 | | Vera Bahan on April 23, 1993; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Albert Lampo began working in the lathing trade; | 14 | | he then worked for Allied Construction for over 20 years, | 15 | | retiring in 1988; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Albert Lampo was a lifelong member of St. Mary's | 17 | | Catholic Church in East Moline until its closing; he was an | 18 | | avid reader of Tom Clancy, John Sanford, John Grisham, and the | 19 | | Daily Dispatch newspaper; he enjoyed traveling, crossword | 20 | | puzzles, drawing, woodwork, bowling, and gardening; he was | 21 | | affectionately known as "Bampo" to his grandchildren and | 22 | | great-grandchildren; and

| 4 | | WHEREAS, Albert Lampo is survived by his children, Albert | 5 | | Jr., Denise Campagna, Beth Lampo, and Jerry Lampo; six | 6 | | grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Gerard | 7 | | and Edward; his sisters, Mary Ann Meincke, Anne Blomme, and | 8 | | Theresa Challenger; and his special friend, Barb Michalek; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Albert J. "Big Al" Lampo Sr., and extend our sincere | 13 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 14 | | him; and be it further
