| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William "Bill" Hansen, formerly of East | 4 | | Moline, who passed away on May 12, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hansen was born in Dixon to William and | 6 | | Lenora Miller Hansen on July 20, 1927; he served in the U.S. | 7 | | Navy during both World War II and the Korean War and received | 8 | | several decorations; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hansen was in the aviation industry for many | 10 | | years, retiring as chief inspector for Union Flights in | 11 | | Sacramento, California; he established the aviation program at | 12 | | the School of the Ozarks; he was a commercial pilot, a member | 13 | | of and examiner for the Experimental Aircraft Association | 14 | | (EAA), and founder and president of the EAA chapter in | 15 | | Springfield, Missouri; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hansen was a member of the Blackhawk Gem and | 17 | | Mineral Club, the Moline Horticultural Club, American Legion | 18 | | Post 246, and VFW Post 2153; he was an avid reader and enjoyed | 19 | | many hobbies, including building scale model ships and boats, | 20 | | mineral collecting, lapidary and silversmithing, photography, | 21 | | computers, flying, and gardening; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hansen was preceded in death by his brother, | 2 | | Lawrence Hansen; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Bill Hansen is survived by his children, Cynthia | 4 | | Bevelheimer, William (Donna) Hansen, Charles (Kimberly) | 5 | | Hansen, and Daniel Hansen; 10 grandchildren; and eight | 6 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | William "Bill" Hansen, and extend our sincere condolences to | 10 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
