| SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Dr. Ferd J. Mueller, who passed away on | 4 |
| May 8, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ferd J. Mueller was born on November 30, 1921 in | 6 |
| Belleville; and | 7 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Mueller graduated from Saint Louis University | 8 |
| School of Medicine in 1945 and served with the United States | 9 |
| Army Medical Corps during World War II; after World War II he | 10 |
| practiced general medicine in Odell, Illinois for five years; | 11 |
| he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at | 12 |
| Saint Louis University Group Hospitals in 1956 and then began | 13 |
| his medical practice in Belleville; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Mueller was a proud member of the Saint Louis | 15 |
| University Billiken basketball team during his college days; he | 16 |
| was a lifelong supporter of Saint Louis University as an | 17 |
| honorary member of the DuBourg Society and the Billiken Tip Off | 18 |
| Club; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Mueller was chief of staff at St. Elizabeth's | 20 |
| Hospital in Belleville; he was a member of the St. Clair County | 21 |
| Medical Society, the Illinois State Medical Society, the |

| American Medical Association, and the St. Louis GYN Society; he | 2 |
| was a past president of the Catholic Physicians and Dental | 3 |
| Guild; he was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic | 4 |
| Church in Belleville and a charter member of the Serra Club of | 5 |
| St. Clair County; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Mueller served on the school board of Our Lady | 7 |
| Queen of Peace Grade School and the first school board of | 8 |
| Althoff Catholic High School; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Mueller was preceded in death by his parents, | 10 |
| Ferd E. and Odilia M., nee Lindenberger, Mueller; and | 11 |
| WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine | 12 |
| M., nee Rost, Mueller, whom he married on September 18, 1944; | 13 |
| his sons and daughters, Dr. Stephen V. Mueller, Marybeth (Dr. | 14 |
| Curt) Ries, Barbara J. Lombardo, Margo A. Mueller, Dr. Ferd J. | 15 |
| Jr. (Allison) Mueller, Michael W. Mueller, Mark C. Mueller, and | 16 |
| Tom M. Mueller; his sister, Marilyn E. Louraine Rowan; his 17 | 17 |
| grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren; therefore, be | 18 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 20 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 21 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Dr. Ferd J. Mueller; and | 22 |
| be it further
