| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Roscoe "Dallas" Davenport of Silvis, who | 4 | | passed away on May 7, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was born in Greene Township to | 6 | | Roscoe Vance and Gladys Brown Davenport on April 17, 1939; he | 7 | | served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and | 8 | | married Jeanne Sanquist on December 16, 1966; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport worked as a skilled tradesman for | 10 | | J.I. Case in Bettendorf, Iowa for 23 years; he also worked at | 11 | | the Rock Island Arsenal for several years before retiring in | 12 | | 1995; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was a member of United | 14 | | Presbyterian Church and the Moline American Legion Post No. | 15 | | 246; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and | 16 | | the Fighting Illini; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was preceded in death by his | 18 | | parents; his two sisters, Marilyn Smith and Martha Thorp; and | 19 | | his two brothers, Charles and Benjamin Davenport; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport is survived by his wife, Jeanne; |

| 1 | | his daughters, Denise (Greg) Hiner and Danielle Davenport; his | 2 | | three step-grandchildren, Anthony (Norrine) Hiner, Brett | 3 | | Hiner, and Cara (Daniel) Harksen; his two sisters, Mildred | 4 | | Price and Dorothy (Daryl) Lemon; his brother, Robert (Joanne) | 5 | | Davenport; and several nieces, nephews, and grand-animals; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Roscoe "Dallas" Davenport, and extend our sincere condolences | 10 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 11 | | it further
