| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Norma Charlotte Anderson of Woodstock, | 4 | | who passed away on April 18, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson was born in Greenwood Township to | 6 | | Emor Stillman and Amelia (Schroeder) Doolittle on November 10, | 7 | | 1923; she married Glenn "Andy" Elliot Anderson in Wonder Lake | 8 | | on May 7, 1954; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson retired in January of 1979 after a | 10 | | career of over 35 years with the Internal Revenue Service in | 11 | | Chicago, where she was a Personnel Management Specialist, Tax | 12 | | Examiner, and Auditor; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson was a member of the First United | 14 | | Methodist Church of Woodstock, and a life-member of the McHenry | 15 | | County Historical Society, where she worked as a volunteer for | 16 | | many years; she was also a member of various genealogical | 17 | | societies; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, In October of 2000, Norma Anderson received the | 19 | | Volunteer of the Year Award from the Illinois Association of | 20 | | Museums; the Quilters of the McHenry County Historical Society | 21 | | dedicated their 2005 quilt to her in recognition of her many |

| 1 | | years of service; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson served as Secretary of Doolittle's | 3 | | of America from 1987 to 1993 and as Secretary of Goff, Goffe, | 4 | | Goughes, and their ancestors and descendants from 1989 to 1993; | 5 | | she was a member of the Executive Council from 1994 to 1997 and | 6 | | served on the Oakland Cemetery Board for many years; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson was a Life-Member of the National | 8 | | Society Daughters of the American Revolution, where she had | 9 | | been Regent and Honorary Ex-Regent of the Kishwaukee Trail | 10 | | Chapter NSDAR and held various other offices; she was also a | 11 | | member of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson enjoyed spending time with | 13 | | friends, especially the Greenwood Lunch Bunch, the Methodist | 14 | | Lunch Bunch, and Crazy Hats; she also enjoyed transcribing old | 15 | | handwritten documents at the McHenry County Recorder's Office | 16 | | and at the McHenry County Historical Society; she and her | 17 | | husband traveled extensively, including a trip to Australia and | 18 | | New Zealand; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson was preceded in death by her | 20 | | husband, Glenn "Andy" Elliot Anderson; her parents; her sister, | 21 | | Norine Mathey; her brother-in-law, Charles Mathey; and an | 22 | | infant brother, James Emor Doolittle; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Norma Anderson is survived by her godson, Gary Lee | 2 | | VanLanduyt, and many beloved nieces and nephews; therefore, be | 3 | | it
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Norma Charlotte Anderson, and extend our sincere condolences to | 7 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 8 | | further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Norma Anderson as an expression of | 11 | | our deepest sympathy.
