| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
United | 4 | | States Army Specialist Andrew Paul Wade of Antioch, who passed | 5 | | away on March 9, 2011; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Spc. Andrew Wade was born on February 27, 1989, in | 7 | | Fort Hood, Texas; he was the son of Douglas and Elizabeth | 8 | | (Hagedorn) Wade; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Spc. Andrew Wade grew up in Antioch; he was a 2007 | 10 | | graduate of Antioch Community High School, where he was a very | 11 | | active soccer player; during high school, he started with the | 12 | | varsity team for two years and was one of the few juniors to | 13 | | aid the team in winning the regional and divisional | 14 | | championships, including the North Suburban Conference Prairie | 15 | | Division crown, assisting on one of the two goals that led to | 16 | | the victory; he was named for All-Sectional Honors by the | 17 | | Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association and the Daily | 18 | | Herald All-Area Team in 2006; he also played with the Chicago | 19 | | Kickers Soccer Club for six years; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Spc. Andrew Wade joined the United States Army in | 21 | | September of 2008 as a 5th generation soldier; after completing | 22 | | his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to |

| 1 | | the 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat | 2 | | Team of the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York; he | 3 | | was deployed to serve in Afghanistan in support of Operation | 4 | | Enduring Freedom in the spring of 2010; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Spc. Andrew Wade earned many decorations and | 6 | | awards for his service, including the NATO Medal, the Army | 7 | | Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the | 8 | | Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service | 9 | | Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, | 10 | | and the Combat Infantryman Badge; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Spc. Andrew Wade was a member of St. Peter Church; | 12 | | and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Spc. Andrew Wade was preceded in death by his | 14 | | paternal grandparents, Paul and Deloriouse Wade; and | 15 | | WHEREAS, Spc. Andrew Wade is survived by his parents, | 16 | | Elizabeth and Douglas Wade; his sister, Alicia (Damon) | 17 | | Litchfield; his brothers, Steven and Jonathan Wade; his | 18 | | maternal grandparents, Mary Jane Hagedorn and Richard | 19 | | Hagedorn; his nieces, Veronica Mauritz and Haley Braverman; and | 20 | | his nephews, Derrion and Dominic Litchfield; therefore, be it
