| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Melba L. Austwick of Carlinville, who | 4 | | passed away on August 11, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Melba Austwick was born in Carlinville to Lewis | 6 | | and Edith (Killam) Brown on November 5, 1926; she graduated | 7 | | from Hettick High School and then earned a degree from Browns | 8 | | Business College in St. Louis, Missouri; she married K. Lendell | 9 | | Austwick in Carlinville on November 14, 1946; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Melba Austwick was a farm wife and a homemaker; | 11 | | she worked in the advertising department for the Democrat | 12 | | newspaper in Carlinville; she was also the receptionist for Dr. | 13 | | Thomas Huson for many years; later in life, she was employed by | 14 | | the Carlinville School District as a librarian assistant at | 15 | | West School; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Melba Austwick was active in her church, Charity | 17 | | Baptist Church in Carlinville; she enjoyed crocheting, | 18 | | reading, and spending time with her grandchildren; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Melba Austwick was preceded in death by her | 20 | | parents; her husband, K. Lendell; her granddaughter, Christy | 21 | | Lynne LeVora; and her brother, Paschal Brown; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Melba Austwick is survived by her daughters, | 2 | | Connie LeVora and Vicki (Nate) Halteman; her granddaughter, | 3 | | Jaime (Dave Gaydos) Halteman; her grandsons, J.R. (Andrea | 4 | | Hearn) LeVora and Nathan (Bridget Goon) Halteman; her | 5 | | great-granddaughters, Kristilyn LeVora and Genevieve Gaydos; | 6 | | her great-grandson, Caius LeVora; her sister-in-law, Virginia | 7 | | Brown; her brother-in-law, Zane Austwick; and her many nieces | 8 | | and nephews; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Melba L. Austwick and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Melba Austwick as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
