| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George Edward Droste, who passed away on | 4 | | June 13, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Droste was born on May 22, 1929 in Alton; | 6 | | his parents were Theodore and Mary Droste; he married Margaret | 7 | | Maher on December 31, 1951 in Bethalto; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, George Droste served in the United States Army; he | 9 | | was also a lifelong original member of St. Ambrose Catholic | 10 | | Church in Godfrey; and | 11 | | WHEREAS, George Droste retired from Union Electric in 1991 | 12 | | after 38 years of service; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, George Droste enjoyed gardening, hunting, and | 14 | | fishing; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, George Droste was preceded in death by his | 16 | | parents; his brothers, Ben and David Droste; and his sisters, | 17 | | Agatha and Mary Droste, Agnes Hesse, Sister Mary Ann Droste OP, | 18 | | Sister Mary Delores Droste OSU, and Sister Clare Droste SSM; | 19 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, George Droste is survived by his wife, Margaret; | 2 | | his children, Margaret Mary "Margie" (James) Dieren, Mary Jo | 3 | | (John) Ward, Daniel (Ruthie) Droste, Donald Droste (Patty | 4 | | Finn), Eileen (David) Daly, Nancy (Monty) Curvey, Joseph Droste | 5 | | (Stacey Baca), and Linda Droste; 17 grandchildren; 10 | 6 | | great-grandchildren; his brother, Paul (Dorothy) Droste; and | 7 | | his sisters, Juliana Droste SSM, Julianna Mulrean, and Gertrude | 8 | | Droste; therefore, be it
