Amends the Illinois Geographic Information Council Act. Makes a technical change in a provision concerning the Illinois Geographic Information Council.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Geographic Information Council Act | 5 | | is amended by changing Section 5-5 as follows:
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 1128/5-5)
| 7 | | Sec. 5-5. Council. The Illinois Geographic Information | 8 | | Council,
hereinafter called the the "Council", is created | 9 | | within the Department of Natural Resources.
| 10 | | The Council shall consist of 17 voting members, as follows: | 11 | | the
Illinois Secretary of State, the Illinois Secretary of | 12 | | Transportation, the
Directors of the Illinois Departments of | 13 | | Agriculture, Central Management
Services, Commerce and | 14 | | Economic Opportunity, Nuclear Safety,
Public Health, Natural | 15 | | Resources, and Revenue, the Directors of
the Illinois Emergency | 16 | | Management Agency and the Illinois Environmental
Protection | 17 | | Agency, the President of the University of Illinois, the | 18 | | Chairman of
the Illinois Commerce Commission, plus 4 members of | 19 | | the General Assembly, one
each appointed by the Speaker and | 20 | | Minority Leader of the House and the
President and Minority | 21 | | Leader of the Senate. An ex officio voting member may
designate | 22 | | another person to carry out his or her duties on the Council.

additional voting members, representing local, | 2 | | regional, and federal agencies,
professional organizations, | 3 | | academic institutions, public utilities, and the
private | 4 | | sector.
| 5 | | Members appointed by the Governor shall serve at the | 6 | | pleasure of the
Governor.
