| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert R. "Bob" Bigford of Rock Island, | 4 | | who passed away on September 17, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Bigford was born in Moline to Ray and Susan | 6 | | Cloyd Bigford on May 12, 1937; he graduated from Alleman High | 7 | | School in 1956 and married Louise M. De Pooter in Moline on | 8 | | February 7, 1959; he served in the U.S. Army National Guard and | 9 | | Army Reserve; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bob Bigford was employed with Oscar Mayer for 37 | 11 | | years; he also served on the Rock Island County Board for 15 | 12 | | years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bob Bigford was a member of the St. Ambrose | 14 | | Catholic Church in Milan, where he was a former Eucharistic | 15 | | Minister and usher; he was a member and past Grand Knight of | 16 | | St. Ambrose Knights of Columbus; his other memberships included | 17 | | the Milan American Legion, the Viking Club, and the Friends | 18 | | Circle as a Golden Member; he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and | 19 | | being with family and friends; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Bob Bigford was recognized as a Community Hero by | 21 | | the John Deere Classic in 2017 for his many decades of |

| 1 | | volunteer service with the John Deere Classic, his church, area | 2 | | organizations, and his support of Special Persons Encounter | 3 | | Christ; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bob Bigford was preceded in death by his parents | 5 | | and his son-in-law, Jack Prouty; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Bob Bigford is survived by his wife, Louise; his | 7 | | children, Robert (Michelle) Bigford, Valerie Prouty, Karen | 8 | | (Steve) Goff, Jessica (Russ) Adamson, and Sergeant First Class | 9 | | Bradley (Becky) Bigford; 11 grandchildren; eight | 10 | | great-grandchildren; his sisters, Jackie Caudill and Ruth | 11 | | Sarley; and many nieces, nephews, and additional family | 12 | | members; therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 15 | | Robert R. "Bob" Bigford and extend our sincere condolences to | 16 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 17 | | further
