| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Lucille "Lucy" Madsen, who passed away on | 4 | | June 5, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Madsen was born January 29, 1942 in | 6 | | Brooklyn, New York; her parents were William and Helen Martell; | 7 | | and | 8 | | WHEREAS, As a teenager, Lucille Madsen's family relocated | 9 | | to Park Ridge, where she attended Main East High School; after | 10 | | graduating from Lake Forest College, she taught elementary | 11 | | school in Schiller Park before leaving to raise a family; she | 12 | | also obtained her Certificate in Pastoral Ministry at Dominican | 13 | | University and served as a chaplain at several hospitals; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Madsen donated much of her free time to | 15 | | helping others, including numerous church ministries at St. | 16 | | Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, including Religious | 17 | | Education, Bereavement Minister, Bible Study, and Vacation | 18 | | Bible School; she also served as a hospital Eucharistic | 19 | | minister and assisted in an English as a Second Language | 20 | | program; and | 21 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Madsen enjoyed attending daily Mass, |

| 1 | | cooking, gardening, traveling, reading, and spending time with | 2 | | her family, especially her grandchildren; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Madsen was preceded in death by her | 4 | | parents and her loving dogs, Corky and Simba; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lucille Madsen is survived by her loving husband | 6 | | of 48 years, Robert Madsen; her children, Robert (Patrick | 7 | | Zanone) Madsen, Christopher Madsen, Mary (Peter) Heskin, and | 8 | | David (Katy) Madsen; her grandchildren, Ryleigh and Sean Heskin | 9 | | and Ellie, Bennett, and Everett Madsen; her sister, Helen | 10 | | Sharp; and her sister and brothers-in-law, Madeleine and Pat | 11 | | Feldman, William and Madelyn Madsen, and Jerome and John | 12 | | Madsen; therefore, be it
