| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Caryl Koepke May, who passed away on | 4 | | August 16, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Caryl May was born in Chicago to Herbert and Grace | 6 | | Koepke on October 3, 1939; she graduated from Woodland Grade | 7 | | School and Warren Township High School; she graduated from | 8 | | Carthage College in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education; | 9 | | she married Dr. Edward May on June 25, 1966; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Caryl May taught home economics at Warren Township | 11 | | High School from 1963 to 1967; after raising her four children, | 12 | | she worked at Matigian pre-school and The Camera Bag; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Caryl May was an award winning photographer, an | 14 | | honorary member of the Waukegan Rotary Club, and a supporter of | 15 | | Warren Township High School; she enjoyed traveling, playing | 16 | | bingo, and following the Chicago Cubs; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Caryl May was preceded in death by her parents; | 18 | | her brother, Donald (Karen) Koepke; and her aunt, Marjorie | 19 | | Tansor; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Caryl May is survived by her husband of 50 years, |

| 1 | | Edward; her children, Mary, David (Dawn), Marjorie (Bill), and | 2 | | Jennifer; her grandchildren, Kayleigh (Josh), Brandon (Kelly), | 3 | | Aaron, Cameron, Joshua, Lucas, Ross, Riley, Zachary, and Casey; | 4 | | her great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Oliver, and one due in | 5 | | November; her brother, David (Patti) Koepke; her cousins, Jim | 6 | | Tansor and Tom (Jean) Tansor; and numerous nieces and nephews; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Caryl Koepke May, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Caryl May as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
