| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Sheldon Lovinger, who passed away on | 4 | | October 3, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger was born in Scranton, | 6 | | Pennsylvania to William and Evelyn Lovinger on December 31, | 7 | | 1927; he graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1945 | 8 | | and then studied at the University of Wisconsin in Madison; he | 9 | | served in the U.S. Army; he was the former spouse of Connie | 10 | | Lovinger; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger worked with his father at | 12 | | Lovinger's Store for Men on Genesee Street before joining him | 13 | | in their new venture, Lovinger Real Estate; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger was an active member in his | 15 | | community; he served as president of the Lake County Shrine | 16 | | Club, the Waukegan City Club, the Lake County Board of | 17 | | Realtors, Bnai Brith, the Jack Benny PTO, and the North Shore | 18 | | Tennis Association; he was a longtime member of the Glen Flora | 19 | | and Mission Hills Country Clubs, where he enjoyed many rounds | 20 | | of golf, including a hole-in-one; playing gin rummy with the | 21 | | guys in the locker room was his favorite pastime; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger was a longtime member of | 2 | | Congregation Am Echod; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Sheldon Lovinger is survived by his sister, Joan | 4 | | Shaugnessy; her daughters, Marcia L. Battista and Diane C. | 5 | | Wendricks; his son, Jeffrey; eight grandchildren; and five | 6 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Sheldon Lovinger and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
