| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Charles A. "Chuck" McBride, Jr., who | 4 | | passed away on December 10, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charles McBride, Jr. was born in Frederic, | 6 | | Wisconsin on August 13, 1932 and moved to Waukegan with his | 7 | | family in 1936; he graduated from Waukegan Township High School | 8 | | in June of 1950; he attended the University of Illinois on a | 9 | | Naval ROTC Scholarship; he obtained his Bachelor of Science in | 10 | | Civil Engineering in January of 1956, and was commissioned as | 11 | | an Ensign in the United States Navy on the same date; he served | 12 | | in the Navy for 3 years with the Pacific Fleet on an Amphibious | 13 | | Attack Cargo ship; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Charles McBride, Jr. returned to Waukegan in | 15 | | January of 1959 and worked for Bleck Engineering in Waukegan; | 16 | | he also worked for Consoer, Townsend and Associates in Chicago | 17 | | and Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan in Hialeah, Florida; he | 18 | | retired from McClure Engineering Associates, Inc. in Waukegan | 19 | | in July of 2002 after 37 years as a Registered Professional | 20 | | Engineer; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Charles McBride, Jr. was very active in Christ | 22 | | Episcopal Church in Waukegan, serving as a Vestryperson and as |

| 1 | | Junior and Senior Wardens; he sang in the Waukegan Swedish Glee | 2 | | Club from 1960 to 1973; in 1976, after returning to | 3 | | Libertyville, he served as President of the Exchange Club of | 4 | | Grayslake and was a member of the Lake County Chapter of the | 5 | | Illinois Society of Engineers, the Christ Church's Men's Club, | 6 | | and the Lake County Shrine Club; he was a Master Mason and a | 7 | | member of Waukegan Masonic Lodge #78 Ancient Free and Accepted | 8 | | Masons and the Medinah Shrine; he also served with the Lake | 9 | | County Clerk's Office as an election judge for many years; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Charles McBride, Jr. was preceded in death by his | 11 | | father, Charles A. McBride, Sr.; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Charles McBride, Jr. is survived by his wife of 57 | 13 | | years, Susan; his children, Kimlet Jo Nichols (Kelly), Charles | 14 | | A. McBride, III (Cindee), and Sean McBride; his 2 | 15 | | grandchildren, Tara Nichols Gehrls (Mike) and Ryan Nichols | 16 | | (Gretchen); his great-grandchild, Haydn Nichols Gehrls; and | 17 | | his mother, Elverna; therefore, be it
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 20 | | Charles A. "Chuck" McBride, Jr., and extend our sincere | 21 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 22 | | him; and be it further
