| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Marilyn R. Hicks of St. Charles, who | 4 | | passed away on February 21, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks was born in St. Charles to Hazel | 6 | | (Carlson) and Arthur Roehlk on May 7, 1924; she graduated from | 7 | | St. Charles High School in 1942; she studied nursing at | 8 | | Augustana Hospital in Chicago for three years to become a | 9 | | registered nurse; she married Lyle Hicks at the Bethlehem | 10 | | Lutheran Church in St. Charles on May 26, 1946; she later | 11 | | earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of | 12 | | St. Francis in Joliet; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks worked at the old Geneva Hospital, | 14 | | Delnor Hospital, and in the offices of two well-known doctors | 15 | | in Geneva; she later became the school nurse at Coultrap Middle | 16 | | School; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks was preceded in death by her | 18 | | parents; her siblings, Glenn and Marjorie; and her husband, | 19 | | Lyle; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn Hicks is survived by her sons, John, James | 21 | | (Vicki), Joel (Sharon), and Lyle; her grandchildren, Byron |

| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Marilyn R. Hicks, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 9 | | further
