| SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Arnie Frank Bryant; and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, He was born in Hartford, Alabama, the oldest of | 5 |
| five children born to Frank and Rosie Anderson; he was raised | 6 |
| in Newark, New Jersey, Chicago, and Maywood; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He attended Farragut and Proviso East High | 8 |
| Schools; he joined the United States Army in 1977 and remained | 9 |
| on active duty until 1997; he accepted Christ as his Savior at | 10 |
| an early age at Proviso Missionary Baptist Church under Bishop | 11 |
| Claude Porter; he was a member of New Horizon Missionary | 12 |
| Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Carl Hopson at | 13 |
| the time of his passing; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was a caring and compassionate man who loved | 15 |
| his family and fellow man; he was the President of the Proviso | 16 |
| Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of | 17 |
| Colored People (NAACP) for many years and a Proviso Township | 18 |
| Trustee; he was also President of the Bellwood Library Board; | 19 |
| and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, he worked in law enforcement for twenty years; he | 21 |
| was most recently employed as Deputy Chief of the Records |

| Center for Cook County; and

| WHEREAS, Arnie Frank Bryant was preceded in death by his | 3 |
| goddaughter, Leslie Thompson; his mother; his brother, | 4 |
| Douglas; and his sister, Thelma; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Arnie Frank Bryant is survived by his wife and | 6 |
| friend, Gladis; his children, Brittany and Frank; his grandson, | 7 |
| Austin Murray; Kassy Twine; his father, Frank Anderson; his | 8 |
| brother, Raymond Bryant (Christina); his sister, Crystal King | 9 |
| (David); and many nieces and nephews, all who were his | 10 |
| favorite; therefore, be it
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 12 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 13 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Arnie Frank Bryant; and | 14 |
| be it further
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 |
| presented to the family of Arnie Frank Bryant as a symbol of | 17 |
| our sincere sympathy.
