| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Geraldine Harps on February 13, 2019; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps was born to the union of Walter | 5 | | and Mattie L. Jones on January 14, 1952 in Chicago; she was the | 6 | | eldest of five children; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps received her childhood education | 8 | | at Goodrich Elementary School and Richard T. Crane; she | 9 | | graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School in Chicago; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps worked in the medical field her | 11 | | entire life and was a very active member of Living Word | 12 | | Christian Center and New Life Covenant Church for many years; | 13 | | and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps dedicated her life to serving | 15 | | others and was committed and devoted to her faith; she was a | 16 | | loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt and a dear | 17 | | friend to others; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps was united in Holy Matrimony to | 19 | | Robert F. Harps on July 07, 2007; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Geraldine Harps is survived by her children, | 2 | | Melisa (Marshall), Willie III (Brunlida), and Mattie; her | 3 | | sisters and brothers, Nadine (Johnny), Patricia (Samuel), | 4 | | Walter (Gloria), and Solomon (Angela); her grandchildren, | 5 | | Jaleesa, Jasmine, Jernell, Ryishie, Renisha, Willie IV, | 6 | | Rayven, Ryan, Taniya, and Marissa (Elijah); her 13 | 7 | | great-grandchildren; as well as many relatives and dear | 8 | | friends; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Geraldine Harps and extend our sincere condolences to her | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 13 | | further
