| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Frederick J. "Fritz" Campbell of Wenona, | 4 | | who passed away on March 15, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Campbell was born on September 14, 1915, | 6 | | in Wenona; his parents were Fred J. and Frances Campbell; he | 7 | | married Merleta M. Anthony on January 20, 1951; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Campbell graduated from Wenona High | 9 | | School in 1933; after serving in the United States Army during | 10 | | World War II, he returned home and took over the family | 11 | | business, the Wenona Produce Company; after the company's | 12 | | closure, he worked for the Illinois State Comptroller, and then | 13 | | moved to the Illinois Department of Transportation, where he | 14 | | worked until his retirement; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Campbell's passion in life was | 16 | | Republican politics; he served as a delegate to several | 17 | | Republican National Conventions and attended the presidential | 18 | | inaugurations of President Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush; | 19 | | he served as a Republican precinct committeeman and as Marshall | 20 | | County Republican chairman for 24 years; he was also very | 21 | | involved in local politics and eventually became the Mayor of | 22 | | Wenona, where he served for 4 terms; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Campbell was a member of the Wenona | 2 | | American Legion; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Campbell was preceded in death by his | 4 | | wife, Merleta; his brother, Vic Campbell; and his sister, | 5 | | Sheila Campbell; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Frederick Campbell is survived by his daughter, | 7 | | Susan (Don) Decker; his grandsons, Andrew (fiancee, Brooke | 8 | | Haarmann) Decker and Joshua Decker; his sisters, Donna Campbell | 9 | | and Mary Henderson; his brother, Robert Campbell; and his 5 | 10 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 13 | | his family and friends, the passing of Frederick J. "Fritz" | 14 | | Campbell; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Frederick Campbell as an expression | 17 | | of our sympathy.
