| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Teresa Suzanne Ponio of Island Lake, who | 4 | | passed away on January 26, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Teresa Ponio was born in Rockford on April 21, | 6 | | 1958 to Richard and Frances Kerns (nee Hoeppner); on November | 7 | | 16, 1985, she married John W. Ponio in Hampshire and together | 8 | | they raised 3 sons in the Village of Island Lake; she earned an | 9 | | Associate of Science/Horticulture degree with emphasis on | 10 | | Floral Shop Management, and an Associate of Theology degree | 11 | | with an emphasis on Leadership Training; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Teresa Ponio was a stay-at-home mom and home | 13 | | schooled her boys through high school; she was a member of the | 14 | | Municipal Clerks of Illinois and the current Clerk for the | 15 | | Village of Island Lake; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Teresa Ponio was a member of the Lakes Region | 17 | | Watercolor Guild and a past Chair of their newsletter; she | 18 | | served for 3 years as a stateside Christian missionary in | 19 | | Idaho, Virginia, and Oklahoma; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Teresa Ponio was preceded in death by her parents, | 21 | | and her nephews, Shawn Gromer and Joshua Ghyselinck; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Teresa Ponio is survived by her husband, John; her | 2 | | sons, Luke, Matt, and John; her brother, Michael (Kathy) Kerns; | 3 | | her sisters, Jeanette (David) Larson, Patricia (Richard) | 4 | | Ghyselinck, and Connie (Dean) Hinnerichs; and her nieces and | 5 | | nephews, Andrea (Cory) Probasco, Michelle (Jeff) Nevenhoven, | 6 | | Martin (Samara) Gromer, Eric (Wendy) Larson, Ryan Kerns, | 7 | | Nichole (Steve) Mathiason, Evan (Bethany) Kerns, Chad (Cindy) | 8 | | Larson, Adam Gromer, Nicholas Hinnerichs, Lisa (Kevin) | 9 | | Colbert, and Nathan (Elizabeth) Kerns; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Teresa Suzanne Ponio, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 14 | | further
