| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Linwood W. Turley of Carlinville, who | 4 |
| passed away on May 2, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born August 14, 1943, in Festus, Missouri, | 6 |
| the son of the late Roy Linwood Turley and the late Verble | 7 |
| Evelyn (Wallace) Turley; he married Doris Elaine Morse in the | 8 |
| Carlinville United Methodist Church on February 16, 1968; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He graduated from Festus High School in 1961, and | 10 |
| St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1966; he was a Registered | 11 |
| Pharmacist for Sullivan Drugs in Carlinville since 1966; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of Carlinville United Methodist | 13 |
| Church; he loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed | 14 |
| fishing, and model trains; he was in the Carlinville Lions Club | 15 |
| for 25+ years, a member of the Illinois Pharmaceutical | 16 |
| Association, and a past member of First Baptist Church in | 17 |
| Festus/Crystal City, Missouri, until he moved to Carlinville in | 18 |
| 1966; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, He was a Boy Scout of America Eagle Scout; he was | 20 |
| an assistant scoutmaster for BSA Troop 62 in Carlinville, and | 21 |
| later a District Commissioner for the Abraham Lincoln Council; |

| and he was a 10-year board member and past president (2006) of | 2 |
| the Central Macoupin County Rural Water District; and | 3 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by Willis Turley, who | 4 |
| passed away in infancy; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Linwood Turley is survived by his wife, Elaine | 6 |
| Turley; his son, Mathew Turley (Erica); his sister, Virginia R. | 7 |
| Sapp; and his three grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 8 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 9 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 10 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Linwood Turley; and be | 11 |
| it further
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 |
| presented to the family of Linwood W. Turley as a symbol of our | 14 |
| sincere sympathy.
