| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Rudolph J. "Rudy" Grom of Kenosha, | 4 | | formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on April 13, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was born on December 1, 1927, in | 6 | | Waukegan; his parents were John and Mary Grom; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom spent his early life in Waukegan, | 8 | | where he attended Waukegan Township High School; he served in | 9 | | the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and was | 10 | | stationed on the Island of Guam; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was employed as an electrician at VR | 12 | | Wesson in North Chicago for 19 years until it closed; he | 13 | | subsequently worked at St. Therese Medical Center in Waukegan | 14 | | until his retirement in 1993; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer | 16 | | and baseball player; he also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, | 17 | | Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Rudolph Grom was the devoted husband of 53 years | 19 | | of Nancy; the loving father of Laureen Ann (Saul) | 20 | | Grom-McGarity, Mary Margaret (Jeffrey) Grom-Eichner, and |

| 1 | | Sandra Jean (Ronald) Statema; the proud grandfather of Shannon | 2 | | Leigh and Kendra Lynn McDonough, Timothy John Grom Murray, and | 3 | | Dylan Saul McGarity; the fond brother of the late Mary | 4 | | Gregorin; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, | 5 | | be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 8 | | his family and friends, the passing of Rudolph J. "Rudy" Grom; | 9 | | and be it further
