| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are pleased to recognize a successful | 4 | | family-owned business which has flourished throughout the last | 5 | | 100 years; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, On March 10. 1911, William Treudt purchased the | 7 | | West Chicago Press from A.H. and James M. Fairbank; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, After William's death in 1919, his two sons, | 9 | | Phillip and Harold, assumed proprietorship and conducted the | 10 | | printing plant business together; the printing plant was moved | 11 | | to its location, 129 Fremont Street, West Chicago in 1929; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, In 1939, Phillip sold his interest to Harold and | 13 | | moved to West Palm Beach, Florida; Harold and his son, William, | 14 | | became partners in 1955 and when Harold retired in 1969, | 15 | | William became sole proprietor; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, The newspaper portion of the printing business | 17 | | along with the masthead "The West Chicago Press" was sold in | 18 | | 1979; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Treudt family business, now operating under | 20 | | the name "The West Chicago Printing Company," was purchased by |

| 1 | | William's 2 sons, Bruce and Steve in 1992, and was subsequently | 2 | | moved to its present location at 131 Fremont Street in 2001; | 3 | | and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, With 100 years of family pride and tradition, The | 5 | | West Chicago Printing Company is prosperous and committed to | 6 | | the practice of good business; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 8 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 9 | | we congratulate the West Chicago Printing Company on 100 years | 10 | | of business; that we commend the dedicated members of the | 11 | | Treudt family for their contribution to the business as well as | 12 | | the community; and that we extend our very best wishes to them | 13 | | for continued success in the future; and be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the West Chicago Printing Company as a token of | 16 | | respect and esteem.
