| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jerome | 4 | | John "Jerry" Reding of Aurora, who passed away on March 19, | 5 | | 2013; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Jerome Reding was born on April 10, 1925, in | 7 | | Aurora to Joseph and Margaret Reding; he attended St. Theresa | 8 | | Grade School and was a graduate of Marmion Military Academy; he | 9 | | served his country during World War II as a Navy Seabee; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jerome Reding worked as an electrician for the | 11 | | Burlington Northern Railroad and the IBEW Local 461; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jerome Reding was a life member of 67 years and | 13 | | once commander of the Roosevelt-Aurora American Legion Post 84 | 14 | | and one of the founders of the American Legion Post 84 Band, | 15 | | playing the alto saxophone; he served as commander of the | 16 | | American Legion Band Color Guard; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jerome Reding enjoyed playing football for the | 18 | | Aurora Clipper semi-pro team and attending local sporting | 19 | | events; he was a member of St. Rita Cascia Church, the Knights | 20 | | of Columbus, the Moose, the VFW, AMVETS, and the Fox Valley | 21 | | Veterans Retiree Breakfast Club; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jerome Reding was preceded in death by his | 2 | | granddaughter, Andrea Yvonne Saltijeral; his parents; his | 3 | | sisters, Catherine Kramer and Annette Richmond; and his nephew, | 4 | | Glenn Richmond; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jerome Reding is survived by his daughter, Shelly | 6 | | (Frank) Saltijeral; his grandchildren, Clayton (Cherri) | 7 | | Saltijeral and Kyle (Sarah) Saltijeral; his | 8 | | great-grandchildren, Chloe, Beckett, Peyton, and Andrew; his | 9 | | nephews, Greg Kramer and Larry Richmond; his nieces, Cindy | 10 | | White and Charlene Pietrobon; and the family of Francisco and | 11 | | Apolonia Saltijeral; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 13 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 14 | | we mourn the passing of Jerome Reding, and we extend our | 15 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 16 | | and loved him; and be it further
