| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Priscilla (Burhans) Frampton, who | 4 | | passed away on June 30, 2022 at the age of 91; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was born to Nathanial and | 6 | | Vaughtie Burhans on October 12, 1930; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was a graduate of George | 8 | | Washington High School in Alexandria, Virginia and later | 9 | | earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education; she | 10 | | was in the I.L.S. (Integrated Liberal Arts Studies) program at | 11 | | the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton worked as a paraprofessional | 13 | | librarian at the Maryland Enoch Pratt Free Library, the public | 14 | | library of Baltimore; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton continued her education by | 16 | | earning a Master of Arts degree in Library Science from the | 17 | | University of Michigan; she became a cataloger in the main | 18 | | library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton met her husband, Elon W. | 20 | | Frampton, at the Wesley Foundation of the United Methodist |

| 1 | | Church, and they wed in Alexandria on August 16, 1958; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton and her husband settled in | 3 | | Houston, Texas when Elon joined the faculty at The University | 4 | | of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and later moved to | 5 | | DeKalb; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton volunteered in the learning | 7 | | center at Roberts School, served as a food pantry volunteer, | 8 | | participated in the Methodist Church book club, and was a | 9 | | seasonal worker in the Registration and Records Department at | 10 | | Northern Illinois University; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was deeply passionate about | 12 | | current events, history, reading, cooking, and travel; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton was gifted at making lifelong | 14 | | friends wherever she went, and she will be greatly missed for | 15 | | her intellectual curiosity, sense of humor, smile, and, most | 16 | | of all, her loving presence; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, At the time of her passing, Priscilla Frampton | 18 | | was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her | 19 | | sister, Barbara; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Priscilla Frampton is survived by her identical |

| 1 | | twin sister, Cynthia Burhans; her son, Richard; and her | 2 | | daughter, Gail; therefore, be it
| 3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 4 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 5 | | Priscilla (Burhans) Frampton and extend our sincere | 6 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 7 | | her; and be it further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to the family of Priscilla (Burhans) Frampton as an | 10 | | expression of our deepest sympathy.
