| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James Frederick May of Richmond, who | 4 | | passed away on February 28, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James May was born in Spring Grove to Fred and | 6 | | Evelyn (Deinlein) May on July 8, 1935; after attending Grant | 7 | | High School, he joined the United States Air Force and served | 8 | | as an Airman Second Class with the 420th Air Refueling Squadron | 9 | | from 1954 to 1957; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, James May worked as a machinist at Union Special, | 11 | | Signode, and ITW for many years, retiring in 2000; he was a | 12 | | member of Paul C. Hoffman American Legion Post #253 in Richmond | 13 | | and the Woodstock Moose; he loved bowling, reading, movies, and | 14 | | had an extensive music collection; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, James May was preceded in death by his parents and | 16 | | three nephews; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James May is survived by two sisters, Janet May | 18 | | and Elizabeth Tesch; three brothers, Peter May, Roger May, and | 19 | | William (Marlene) May; and numerous nieces and nephews and | 20 | | their families; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 2 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 3 | | James Frederick May, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 4 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 5 | | further
