| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Edward Maag of Belleville | 4 |
| on June 28, 2005; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Maag was born April 25, 1925, in East St. | 6 |
| Louis; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a retired attorney; he was a member of | 8 |
| Gothic Lodge 852 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Past Commander | 9 |
| in Chief from 1977 to 1979, received his 33rd degree in Boston, | 10 |
| Massachusetts in 1966, Ainad Shrine (past Potentate 1970), | 11 |
| Legion of Honor, former legal counsel for Ainad Shrine, former | 12 |
| Legal Imperial Counsel of Shriner of Northern America, former | 13 |
| chairman of the board of Governor of Shriner Hospital for | 14 |
| Children, St. Louis, Missouri, Southern Illinois Court 86 ROJ, | 15 |
| and a U.S. World War II Navy Veteran; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. | 17 |
| Maag; his son, Douglas M. Maag; his parents, E.J. and Ida | 18 |
| Belle, nee Thomas, Maag; his brothers, John Maag and Walter | 19 |
| Maag; and his sisters, Claribel Baker and Ruth Greenough; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Edward Maag is felt by all who knew | 21 |
| and loved him, especially his sons, Gordon E. (Stephanie) Maag | 22 |
| and Edward T. (Diane) Maag; his brother, Thomas R. Maag; his | 23 |
| grandchildren, Thomas G. Maag, Peter J. Maag, Melanie A. Maag, | 24 |
| and Patrick E. Maag; and his caregiver and special friend, | 25 |
| Lonnie Conners; therefore, be it
| 26 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 27 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 28 |
| Edward Maag and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family | 29 |
| and friends; and be it further
