| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Occupational Therapy Practice Act | 5 | | is amended by changing Section 13 as follows:
| 6 | | (225 ILCS 75/13) (from Ch. 111, par. 3713)
| 7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2024)
| 8 | | Sec. 13. Endorsement. The Department may, in its | 9 | | discretion, license as
an occupational therapist or | 10 | | occupational therapy assistant, without
examination, on | 11 | | payment of the required fee, an applicant who is an
| 12 | | occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant | 13 | | licensed under the
laws of another jurisdiction, upon filing of | 14 | | an application on forms provided by the Department, paying the | 15 | | required fee, and meeting such requirements as are established | 16 | | by rule. The Department may adopt rules governing recognition | 17 | | of education and legal practice in another jurisdiction, | 18 | | requiring additional education, and determining when an | 19 | | examination may be required. if the requirements for licensure | 20 | | in that
jurisdiction were, at the date of his licensure, | 21 | | substantially equivalent to
the requirements in force in this | 22 | | State on that date or equivalent to the
requirements of this | 23 | | Act.

| 1 | | An applicant for endorsement who has practiced for 10 | 2 | | consecutive years in another jurisdiction shall meet the | 3 | | requirements for licensure by endorsement upon filing an | 4 | | application on forms provided by the Department, paying the | 5 | | required fee, and showing proof of licensure in another | 6 | | jurisdiction for at least 10 consecutive years without | 7 | | discipline by certified verification of licensure from the | 8 | | jurisdiction in which the applicant practiced. | 9 | | Applicants have 3 years from the date of application to | 10 | | complete the
application process. If the process has not been | 11 | | completed in 3 years,
the application shall be denied, the fee | 12 | | forfeited and the applicant must
reapply and meet the | 13 | | requirements in effect at the time of reapplication.

| 15 | | Section 10. The Illinois Physical Therapy Act is amended by | 16 | | changing Section 11 as follows:

| 19 | | Sec. 11. Endorsement. The Department may, without | 20 | | examination, grant a license under this Act to an applicant who | 21 | | is licensed as a in its discretion, license
