| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Marken Gerhardt of Crystal Lake, who | 4 | | passed away on December 21, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marken Gerhardt was born in Lubbock, Texas to | 6 | | Kenneth and Mary (Cooper) Frazier on April 7, 1943; she | 7 | | graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri with a | 8 | | bachelor's degree in fine arts; she married Paul C. Gerhardt | 9 | | Jr. in 1964; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Marken Gerhardt was a 38-year resident of Crystal | 11 | | Lake; she previously lived in Michigan and West Germany; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Marken Gerhardt was a member of American | 13 | | Association of University Women and the Daughters of the | 14 | | American Revolution; she was a world traveler, an accomplished | 15 | | amateur photographer, and active in multiple book clubs and | 16 | | dining groups; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Marken Gerhardt was preceded in death by her | 18 | | parents and her brother, John Frazier Sr.; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Marken Gerhardt is survived by her loving husband | 20 | | of 52 years, Paul; her daughters, Michelle (Brian) Pappaducas, |

| 1 | | and Kathy (Jon) McCarthy; her son, Eric (Dawn) Gerhardt; her | 2 | | grandchildren, Nikolos Pappaducas, Ella, Anslee, and Cailyn | 3 | | Gerhardt; her brother, Ken (Charlotte) Frazier; her | 4 | | sisters-in-law, Margie Frazier, and Mitzi (Jack) Davis; and | 5 | | many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Marken Gerhardt, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 10 | | further
